Rose Rocket is a market leader in Transportation Management Software. We're a startup going after the $700+ billion dollar trucking industry, leading the shift to SaaS while revolutionizing the way trucking companies sell, service, and innovate. We are a "more human, less corporate" culture that is built around doing work that matters, winning as a team, and celebrating success. We'd love to hear from you if you want to build this with us.
We understand that joining a team is one of the most important decisions you make , and adding a team member is one of the most important decisions we'll make. Through our process, we want you to get to know us and understand how you approach problems, learn, and what motivates you.
Launch Your Product Career at the Heart of Innovation
Are you a builder who's passionate about solving real problems with technology? At Rose Rocket, we're seeking an ambitious Associate Product Manager to join our dynamic product team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with engineering or development experience to transition into product management while working on projects that directly impact how the transportation industry operates. You'll work closely with our Director of Product Management on high-impact initiatives that could span platform development, customer-facing features, or cross-organizational collaboration tools.
What You'll Do:
Drive Real Impact: Own end-to-end product initiatives from discovery through delivery, working on projects that solve genuine customer problems in the transportation industry.
Bridge Technical and Business: Leverage your development background to work seamlessly with engineering teams while translating business needs into technical requirements.
Learn and Grow: Work directly with our Director of Product Management and experienced PMs to develop core product management skills including user research, roadmap planning, and stakeholder management.
Customer Connection: Engage directly with customers to understand their workflows, pain points, and needs - potentially including on-site visits and customer interviews.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineering, design, sales, and customer success teams to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
Embrace AI-Native Thinking: Help shape how AI capabilities can enhance our platform and create new value for customers in an AI-first world.
Why You'll Love Working Here:
Ownership & Growth: Take on meaningful projects from day one with direct mentorship from experienced product leaders. Your work will have an immediate impact on our customers and business.
Learning Culture: Join a team that values curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement. We'll invest in your growth as you transition into product management.
Dynamic Environment: Work on diverse projects across our platform - from core infrastructure to customer-facing features to cutting-edge AI integrations.
Hands-On Technical Impact: Leverage your engineering experience to contribute code directly to our application layer, building customer-specific solutions on top of our platform. You'll use AI tools to accelerate development while delivering immediate value through custom implementations.
Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy the best of both worlds with 3 days in our vibrant downtown Toronto office and 2 days working remotely.
What You Bring:
Technical Foundation: Engineering, computer science, or development background with hands-on experience building software projects (personal projects, internships, or professional experience).
Builder Mindset: You've created things - whether it's apps, websites, scripts, or other technical projects that demonstrate your ability to turn ideas into reality.
Customer Obsession: Genuine interest in working closely with customers to understand their workflows, challenges, and needs. You're energized by customer conversations and see them as the key to building better products.
AI-Native Approach: Comfortable with AI tools and thinking about how AI can enhance products and workflows. You see AI as a natural part of the development process.
Action-Oriented: You're someone who rolls up their sleeves and gets things done. You prefer moving fast and iterating rather than endless planning.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Curiosity and Learning: Eager to understand customer problems, market dynamics, and business strategy. You ask great questions and aren't afraid to dive deep.
Collaborative Spirit: You work well with others and can build relationships across different teams and functions.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with TypeScript or modern web development
Previous internships or co-op experience in product or engineering roles
Experience with agile development methodologies
Interest in B2B software or logistics/transportation industry
Don't sweat it if you don't have everything listed above. We believe in growth and curiosity. If you have some of these qualities and are excited about this opportunity, then we want to hear from you
