We're looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist who brings enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and execution power. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and directly connected to sales growth. You'll blend creative marketing, digital strategy, and relationship-building to increase awareness, generate leads, and support our leadership team.

What You'll Be Doing
Marketing, Growth & Brand
- Generate leads and improve conversion through digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, social media, email, and content marketing
- Own brand management and ensure consistency across all platforms, materials, and communications
- Create engaging, on-brand content (digital, print, video, and social)
- Use creative marketing, video, and popular online trends to increase awareness and drive sales
- Track, analyze, and report on marketing performance to continuously improve results
Communications (Internal & External)
- Own internal and external communications to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging messaging
- Create and manage the internal team member newsletter and other internal communications
- Plan, write, and distribute external newsletters and client-facing communications
- Support leadership with clear, professional messaging aligned with WIB values and strategy
Digital & Content Marketing
- Manage and optimize SEO and Google PPC campaigns to drive traffic and qualified leads
- Write, edit, and execute blogs, campaigns, and client communications
- Plan and execute email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp and other internal systems
- Manage social media strategy and execution across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X
- Maintain and update the WordPress website to keep content fresh and relevant
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership to support marketing objectives aligned with overall business strategy
- Serve as a key liaison between divisions and senior leadership to increase awareness, alignment, and sales across the organization
- Act as a primary marketing resource by gathering insights, research, and market intelligence to support leadership decision-making
- Work with third-party marketing partners as required to support campaigns and initiatives
Events, Community & Business Development
- Support and coordinate marketing and communication needs for new or relocated branches
- Plan, promote, and attend company events, trade shows, and external events in support of the organization
- Identify and support speaking, networking, and community opportunities aligned with WIB values
- Present at events as required in a professional, confident manner
- Make outbound business development calls to prospects, referral partners, and community contacts as required (outbound calls are relationship-based, high-energy, and focused on growth—not high-pressure sales)
- Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, and partnerships
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Marketing will be given preference
- 2+ years of experience in marketing or communications (general insurance is an asset)
- Comfortable creating video content, jumping on trends, and trying new ideas
- Strong skills in digital marketing, content creation, and graphic design (Adobe / Canva)
- Experience with SEO, Google Ads (PPC), email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar), and social media
- Confident communicator—written, verbal, and in front of a group
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Positive, high-energy, and excited to be part of a team that works hard and has fun
