We are looking for a responsible and motivated 5-Ton Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will hold a Class 5 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement, with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role involves transporting goods across various locations, maintaining warehouse operations, and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to daily warehouse schedules to ensure on-time product deliveries.
Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts or manual handling where necessary, ensuring product integrity.
Deliver products and supplies to various shop locations across the Lower Mainland.
Shuttle goods between Purdys Warehouses, and other Greater Vancouver locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are safe and ready for operation.
Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety policies, and company standards.
Assist with warehouse duties including packing, shipping, receiving, and organizing products and supplies.
Perform vehicle maintenance checks (fluid levels, brakes, tires, lights) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage inventory accuracy, ensuring products are properly documented and stored in accurate location
Communicate with Supervisor to update on delivery progress and address any issues.
Ensure timely reporting of any accidents, delays, or delivery issues.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with shop personnel during deliveries.

Additional Qualifications:

Class 5 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement (Class 3 or higher preferred).
Clean driving record with verifiable experience in driving commercial vehicles (e.g., 5-ton trucks).
Previous or current forklift certification is an asset.
Experience with GPS and routing software to plan and follow the most efficient routes.
Strong time management skills to ensure deliveries are completed within schedule.
Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and a proactive approach to ensuring vehicle safety.
Physically fit, able to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor as needed.
Strong problem-solving skills in case of delivery route changes, traffic delays, or unforeseen challenges.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision while adhering to company policies.
