Since 1976, the Vancouver Police Foundation has partnered with the Vancouver Police Department to fund innovative programs that reduce crime, increase safety, and build stronger community relationships. One of the world's oldest and most established police foundations, the VPF has granted more than $14.5 million to nearly 300 programs and initiatives that promote community engagement, improve public and personal safety, and prevent crime, making Vancouver safer for all.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF) is looking for a strategic, relationship-focused professional to help expand and steward its growing donor community. Reporting to the Executive Director, as the
Director, Fundraising and Donor Relations,
you will lead all fundraising streams; manage a diverse donor portfolio; and create an exceptional stewardship experience that builds trust and long-term engagement. In partnership with colleagues across events, marketing, finance, and operations, you will also support corporate and foundation fundraising and help bring donor impact to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Leadership

  • Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan focused on monthly, mid-level, and major donors
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors
  • Personally solicit gifts and identify opportunities for donor upgrades
  • Establish annual metrics for acquisition, retention, and revenue growth, reporting on progress
  • Collaborate across the Foundation to ensure consistent messaging and donor engagement across all channels, while optimizing CRM use for segmentation, prospecting, and pipeline growth

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Lead the Foundation's stewardship and recognition program, including giving levels, benefits, and touchpoints
  • Draft donor impact reports, presentations, and personalized communications
  • Manage and update all donor thank-you templates and customized acknowledgements
  • Plan and execute donor events, from intimate stewardship gatherings to larger recognition activities
  • Partner with Marketing & Events to deliver holiday and gratitude campaigns

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-ground support at fundraising and community events
  • Contribute to organizational planning, strategy discussions, and cross-team initiatives
  • Support the Executive Director with donor strategy, briefings, and presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Competitive Compensation & Benefits
:

  • Salary range between $93,000 and $105,000 based on experience,
  • Extended Health & Dental Benefits,
  • Generous leave allowances (four weeks' vacation, additional personal days, and an annual Holiday closure),

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

You are a fundraising leader with several years of major-gift and management  experience and a desire to take on bigger goals and make a larger more meaningful impact. You build strong relationships, ask smart questions, and find creative ways to inspire generosity. Independent and proactive, you thrive in environments where you can take initiative and respectfully push boundaries. Energized by ambitious targets, you're ready to raise $1 -2 million in year one and help the Foundation grow substantially in the subsequent years.. You navigate confidently among diverse stakeholders, from corporate leaders to community partners to VPD members, and you are genuinely passionate about community, safety and the role of policing in Vancouver.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years' experience in major-gift fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or related fields
  • Event management experience considered an asset
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills
  • Able to work independently with confidence, discretion, and integrity
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Curious, creative, innovative and eager to test new approaches and learn from results
  • Experience using CRM systems; DonorPerfect experience is an asset
  • Comfortable navigating multi-stakeholder environments and complex systems
  • Deep respect for, and interest in, community safety, policing, and public service in Vancouver
