Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada re:imagine hr Full time

Hiring on behalf of the
Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF):

Since 1976, the
Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF)
has partnered with the Vancouver Police Department to support innovative programs that reduce crime, increase safety, and strengthen community connections across Vancouver. One of the world's oldest and most respected police foundations, VPF has invested $14.5M+ in nearly 300 programs that promote public safety, youth leadership, and meaningful community engagement.

From the life-changing
VPD Cadet Program
, to support for the
VPD Canine Unit
, to community-building initiatives like the
Block Watch
and
Women's Personal Safety Workshops
, the Foundation funds programs that fall outside the VPD's operating budget - enabling officer-led solutions to some of the city's most pressing challenges.

This is more than a fundraising role — it's an opportunity to help bring Vancouver to life in meaningful, human-centred ways.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Director, the
Director, Fundraising and Donor Relations
plays a central role in advancing the Foundation's mission by building strong, trusted relationships with donors and shaping a fundraising program that delivers visible community impact.

You will:

• Lead all fundraising streams with creativity, strategic thinking, and a stewardship-first approach

• Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters

• Design and deliver an exceptional donor experience that connects supporters to impact

• Collaborate across events, marketing, finance, and operations to amplify the Foundation's mission

This role offers meaningful visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with community partners, senior volunteers, and major philanthropic stakeholders.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a fundraising leader with several years of major-gift and donor relationship experience, motivated by ambitious goals and meaningful impact. You bring sound judgment, strong instincts, and a thoughtful, strategic approach to building and stewarding relationships. Independent and proactive, you thrive in environments where you are trusted to take initiative, think creatively, and respectfully push boundaries. You are energized by the opportunity to lead fundraising efforts of $1–2 million in year one and help grow the Foundation substantially in the years ahead.

You are also a natural connector who navigates comfortably among diverse stakeholders, from corporate leaders and community partners to volunteers and members of the Vancouver Police Department. Inspired by community building, public safety, and public service, you bring curiosity, integrity, and care to your work and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to an organization that makes a real and lasting difference in Vancouver.

This role may be a strong fit for:

• An
up-and-coming fundraising leader
ready to expand scope and lead at a higher level; or

• A
seasoned fundraising professional
seeking a purpose-driven next chapter with meaningful impact.
