Position Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor reports to the Housekeeping Manager As a member of the leadership team, you will be training and coaching new staff, inspecting rooms, preparing room lists and assisting with scheduling. This is also a "working supervisor" position, so be prepared to pitch in as needed. Clear communication and good organizational skills will be key to your success as a supervisor.

What will I be doing?

Some of the key duties include:

  • Prepare and assign all room lists to Room Attendants when the Housekeeping Manager is not available.
  • Being a problem solver, coordinator, and communicator, making sure that everyone has the supplies they need and know their duties to be successful each day.
  • Check all rooms to ensure the quality of work is maintained and clear them for the Front Desk.
  • Assist with basic guest services and housekeeping duties:
  • include bed making, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and rooms, laundry and general light maintenance.
  • Ensure that all Occupational Health & Safety policies and training are followed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience as a housekeeping room attendant in a hotel setting
  • Experience supervising or leading a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prioritization, Problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Bending, stooping, standing, and walking for the entire day.
  • Repetitive movement
  • Working with cleaning chemicals
  • May be working with time pressures.
  • Some computer work required.
