Ancron Medical Centre is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our team The ideal candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a strong attention to detail and be able to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Greeting patients, answering phones, updating patient demographics, and scheduling appointments
  • Managing clerical duties such as faxing, scanning and emailing
  • Multitasking effectively in a fast-paced work environment
  • Processing requisitions and referrals
  • Escorting patients to examination rooms and ensuring appropriate instruments, procedure trays or other supplies are set up;
  • Attend sensitive examination procedures and treatments; routine measurements - weight, BMI calculations, eye exams, urinalysis.
  • Process swabs and specimens
  • Clean and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
  • Managing medical/surgical supplies and equipment and other resource material.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures
  • Quickly understanding and following through with doctors' requests

Qualifications and skills

  • Self-motivation, critical thinking, decisive judgement, and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Type over 40 WPM
  • Assist with patient follow up and help coordinate patient care
  • Friendly, team-player, and people-oriented
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

MOA experience is an asset but not required.
