Our client , an accounting firm located in the Hamilton region are looking to hire for a Tax Director

Your New Role

As a senior tax leader, you will oversee complex tax planning and advisory engagements for owner-managed businesses, estates, and trusts. You'll provide strategic guidance on corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and cross-border tax matters. Your role includes reviewing corporate tax filings, liaising with the CRA, and contributing to assurance engagements. You'll also lead and mentor a high-performing tax team, deliver technical training, and collaborate with partners on client development and firm-wide initiatives.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To succeed in this role, you'll need a CPA designation and ideally advanced tax training such as the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program or a Master of Taxation. A minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on tax is essential, along with a proven ability to lead complex engagements and mentor teams. Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax legislation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service will be key to thriving in this position.
