MSALABS is a global provider of geochemical laboratory services for the exploration and mining industries. We deliver a complete range of analytical services from greenfields exploration through to mine closure, including laboratory management, onsite services, and sample preparation.

We are currently seeking a Assistant Laboratory Manager that will be responsible for the daily administrative and managerial decisions that impact the operation of the laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Implement quality control procedures and maintain documentation
  • Raise non-conformance investigations and ensure remedial actions are documented
  • Handle urgent jobs and customer requests promptly and professionally
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
  • Support development and implementation of new technology and analytical methods
  • Provide troubleshooting for instrumentation, procedures, and quality control
  • Maintain staff morale and provide direction for team performance
  • Perform other duties as required by management
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System and compliance with HSE policies
  • Monitor sample workflows and turnaround times; adjust staffing and schedules as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, with a major in Chemistry or another scientific discipline with suitable experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to train and supervise laboratory personnel
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and follow instructions
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Monitoring staff workload levels
  • Ensuring that laboratory staff receive proper training
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • 5-10 Years Laboratory experience
  • Minimum 2 years as a supervisor/Manager
  • Experience in managing process flows in the laboratory and turnaround times
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality assurance as part of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting and resource allocation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $110,000.00-$124,000.00 per year
