Dataco Utility Services is a Calgary-based utility contractor supporting electric meter work throughout the city and surrounding areas. About the Role

We're hiring for a part-time, evening administrative position to support our field crews. This role is primarily independent, so we're looking for someone comfortable working solo and who stays sharp even on quieter nights. You'll be responsible for helping ensure crews are checked in safely, responding to dispatch calls, and keeping the workflow moving between shifts.

The schedule is Wednesday-Friday 2pm-10pm

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitoring safety check-ins using apps like Okay Alone
  • Communicating with field staff by phone, text, or app
  • Responding to and documenting client requests or crew issues
  • Managing end-of-day handoff from day staff
  • General admin tasks and data entry

Who You Are

  • Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communicator — especially in writing and over the phone
  • Tech-comfortable (familiar with Word/Excel; able to learn programs like Maximo, Flowfinity, Okay Alone)
  • Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and comfortable making judgment calls when needed
  • Someone who wants to stay in a role long-term and grow with the team

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in dispatch, scheduling, or admin roles
  • Familiarity with Calgary and surrounding areas
  • Experience in utility, construction, or trades industries
  • Ability to remain calm and focused during high-stress situations (e.g., safety emergencies)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 28 per week

  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
