Overview:
We are looking for a successful and enthusiastic individual to coordinate events from concept to completion and to manage the organization's digital presence. Our Event Planner & Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that Alberta Dreams can satisfy its mission of making Dreams come true.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management (60%)
- Lead the planning, design and execution of Alberta Dreams' fundraising events, including the organization of facilities and management all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling for events.
- Support sponsorship fulfillment by ensuring sponsors receive their promised benefits (branding, recognition, VIP access, etc.).
- Maintain event registration systems and track participant engagement.
- Assist with event-related communications and promotional materials.
- Assist with the creation and development of third-party fundraising event toolkit.
- Maintain donor databases, tracking sponsorships, and event registrations.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and assist with documentation.
- Assist with financial reconciliations related to event expenses and donations.
- Manage incoming inquiries related to events, sponsorships, and general information.
Marketing & Social Media (20%)
- Develop and schedule content for Alberta Dreams' social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) to enhance engagement and brand visibility.
- Assist in content creation, including graphics, video editing, and storytelling for donor and event impact stories.
- Monitor social media performance and provide reports on engagement metrics.
- Update and maintain the Alberta Dreams website with fresh content, event information, and donor recognition.
- Develop email marketing campaigns and newsletters to engage supporters and stakeholders.
General Administrative Support (20%)
- Provide general administrative support to the
Director of FUNd and Community Engagement
as well as the broader team.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as an Events Planner or Organizer
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office, web analytics and digital media proficiency
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management
- Willing to submit references from previous clients or employers
- BS in Event Management or related field
Compensation Structure
Base Salary:
- $50,000 - $60,000 annually
(based on experience and qualifications).
Incentive-Based Compensation:
(Up to 7% of Base Salary, tied to performance in event execution, marketing impact, and operational efficiency)

- Maintain 90%+ volunteer retention/satisfaction for event participation.
Marketing & Social Media Bonus

- Increase net new social media engagement (likes, shares, comments) by
20%+
annually. - Grow net new website traffic by
15%+
through updated content, SEO, and digital outreach. - Develop and execute a minimum of 4
major social media campaigns
annually that drive donor engagement or event participation.
Operational Efficiency Bonus

- Maintain
100% accuracy
in donor and event database entries. - Complete administrative tasks and reports within designated deadlines (minimum 95% on-time rate).
- Ensure zero major compliance issues in event-related financial reconciliations and sponsorship tracking.
