Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an On-site Nutanix Specialist for our client. This is a on-site role and can be filled from within Calgary, AB.

The Role description:


• The primary Goal is to aid the teams with the speed of the Nutanix migrations. A lot of evening work executing the changes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with planning, orchestrating, and executing workload migrations across Windows and Linux virtual environments.

  • Perform detailed pre-migration analysis, including source and destination validation, dependency checks, and runbook creation.

  • Leverage Nutanix and VMware tools for workload movement, optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and networking staff to ensure seamless migrations with minimal downtime.

  • Perform cutover activities, validation, and post-migration support, often during evening maintenance windows.

  • Document processes, issues, and resolutions to support migration best practices and knowledge sharing.

  • Troubleshoot issues in real time, both during migrations and in post-migration support.

The Requirements (skills contractor should have):

  • 5+ years of combined experience with Windows and Linux server administration in virtualized environments.

  • Advanced hands-on expertise with Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere environments, including migration techniques and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with Cisco Networks and ACI is a plus.

  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) are highly desirable.

  • Experience with workload migration tools and methodologies.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as migration schedules require.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
