We are hiring an Overhead Door Technician. We are looking for someone with experience with overhead doors and garage doors to join our team. We are willing to train but experience is an asset. As a door technician you will work on a variety of equipment including commercial and residential sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, roll shutters, commercial pedestrian doors, commercial loading dock equipment and more. The demand to keep doors moving never stops. This industry is constantly in demand and is recession resistant. Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install new overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, fire doors, and other.
  • Service and Repair: Diagnose and repair problems with overhead doors, electric door openers, safety features, and related components.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure smooth and safe operation of doors and related equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with door mechanisms, electronic control circuitry, and other components.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to assess needs, provide solutions, and offer recommendations.
  • Safety: Ensure safe work practices, including proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and other relevant information.
  • Estimating: Provide estimates for work, including time, materials, and travel costs.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
  • Prepare material orders and manage inventory.
  • Provide guidance and training to other technicians.
  • Assist in the design and installation of overhead door systems.
  • Work with dock levelers and access control devices.

Working Conditions:

  • Work can be outside, must be prepared for weather conditions.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and ladder use.
  • Comfortability with heights is required.
  • Some heavy lifting required.
  • Use of powered lift equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts both indoor and outdoor.
  • Use of hand tools and power tools.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working on overhead doors.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, welding, and/or electrical systems is an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and provide proof of Fall Arrest and EWP training
  • Fall Arrest and EWP training will be provided of not currently possessed
  • Must provide own hand tools and cordless drill/impact driver; large power tools provided

Compensation

  • $28-$40/hr, based on experience.
  • 2 weeks vacation to start.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
