Logistics Clerk

Role Overview

The Logistics Clerk is a key player in ensuring the smooth flow of import shipments, particularly international ocean shipments. Reporting to the Supervisor and Manager of Logistics, the coordinator monitors, follows up and troubleshoots when issues arise. This role is 100% on-site at our office.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for

● Issuing orders

● Collecting and reviewing documentation

● Maintaining and organizing a logistics database

● Monitoring, tracking, and tracing import shipments

● Acting as a point of contact for freight forwarders, shipping lines, terminals, warehouses, and carriers

● Coordinating with various parties to ensure smooth flow of import shipments

● Identifying & troubleshooting any logistical issues that arise.

Qualifications

● CIFFA and FITTA certificates

● Post-secondary education.

● Demonstrated experience managing international ocean shipments

● Excellent oral and written fluency in English.

● Competence is Cantonese/Mandarin is an asset

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

● Detail oriented.

● Excellent organization and time-management skills.

● Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

● Exceptional problem-solving ability.

● A team player with strong interpersonal skills.

● Resourceful and a self-starter.

● Thrives under pressure.

● Supply chain and logistics education & experience an asset.

● Negotiate contracts with the shipping line and freight forwarder.
