About you and this role:

Dow has a current exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Leader at our site in West Hill, Ontario, Canada.

The Senior Operations Leader shares responsibility and accountability for two emulsion facilities, to enable safe, compliant, and reliable operation. Provides leadership to the plant operations team which includes both professional individual contributors and administrative, technical and / or operational supports employees. Acts as the primary back-up to the site director. Has accountability for the performance and results of the operations team. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

This position requires someone with strong EH&S focus, leadership and team building skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the site director to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental improvement plan to achieve EH&S goals and ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Knows and advocates Life Critical Standards within the facility. Demonstrates priority and commitment through personal behavior and coaching in the field.
  • Supervise 25 operators. Inspires and motivates the organization by building trust and a strong connection with the team.
  • Develops operation employees and ensures career success via goal-setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plan.
  • Develops strong partnerships across Dow Coating Material Business, Technology Center and site leadership team to drive improvement in the organization, assure alignment and effectively manage communications.

  • Leadership: Guide, motivate, and inspire others towards achieving a common goal
  • Environment Health and Safety: Understanding regulations, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and communicating effectively
  • Budget Management: Effectively plan, track, allocate, and adjust financial resources
  • Business Management: Effectively lead and oversee teams and organizations

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Previous people leadership experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

  • This position is located in West Hill, Ontario, Canada.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • For positions based in Ontario, Dow is required by law to include the pay scale that is reasonably expected to represent the pay range for the position. This pay range is specific to the territory of Ontario and accounts for both new and experienced employees with consideration to factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, and sustained job performance (or similar jobs). A reasonable pay range for this position is: $130,800 – $232,800 (CAD).
