Job Title: Container Dispatcher (Full-Time, Immediate Start)

Schedule: Full-time, Every Other Weekend Dispatch Coverage Required

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Container Dispatcher to manage the efficient movement of containers, coordinate drivers, and ensure exceptional customer service. This is a hands-on role perfect for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a real-time operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch container drivers and manage their schedules effectively.
  • Provide top-tier customer service via email and phone.
  • Book container pick-ups and mounts (P/Us & MTs) using the Truckmate system.
  • Conduct real-time tracing and track driver updates every 30 minutes via SMS and calls to minimize on-route time.
  • Update operational systems in real-time, including Navisphere and Truck mate .
  • Manage and update charges, including detention fees, in bookings.
  • Perform daily yard checks and weekly chassis checks.
  • Prepare and send drayage quotes to customers.
  • Train new drivers on procedures for Rail yards.
  • Plan and assign driver trips for the next day and weekends.
  • Advise the dispatch team of shunts required for the following day.
  • Send driver start times via text message.
  • Manage empty return locations from SSL (Steamship Line).
  • Update the chassis board and share container pictures as required.
  • Provide dispatch coverage every other weekend.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in container dispatching is required.
  • Must have experience handling drivers and interacting with customers.
  • Proficiency with the Truckmate system is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Navisphere or similar TMS (Transportation Management System) is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and problem-solving.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend for dispatch coverage.
  • Status: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Start Date: Immediately

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
