Estimating Manager – Rebar Projects

We are currently seeking an Estimating Manager to join the team in our Richmond Hill location. The Estimating Manager will have oversight of the estimating team throughout Ontario. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of estimators
  • Be responsible for managing, training and or mentoring estimators and the profit/loss performance of the estimated projects.
  • Oversee the estimating process for all projects bid and awarded, directing resources for all estimations and tenders for projects
  • Hands-on involvement in estimates for large and/or complex projects when needed
  • Liaise with the commercial, engineering, and project management teams to ensure adherence to project scope and delivery timelines
  • Work closely with senior company leadership to prioritise pursuits/tenders and make decisions
  • Oversee analysis of past performance on projects and establish estimating standards for all future estimates based on such analysis
  • Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with the team to confirm complete scope
  • Identify and mitigate risk issues
  • Build effective relationships with the commercial team, design team, suppliers, and user groups
  • Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image
Requirements:
  • Relevant post secondary education
  • Experience estimating either rebar, concrete, framework of general contractor estimation. 
  • Proven ability to analyse estimating processes and make improvements
  • Expert level knowledge in estimating systems (i.e. Bluebeam, OST) bid preparation and execution
  • Sound computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with exceptional relationship building skills
  • Sound problem solving and organizational skills

You would be compensated with a six-figure salary and benefits package. You must have a full driving license in good standing, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel around Ontario occasionally to manage the whole Ontario team.
