Assistant Manager, Communications & Policy
Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite)

Our client, located in Toronto, is seeking an Assistant Manager, Communications & Policy to lead the development and execution of strategic communications and organizational policy initiatives. This role supports leadership in maintaining a clear, consistent voice across channels and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategic communications initiatives and frameworks that support organizational goals.

  • Advise senior leaders and staff on communication strategy and stakeholder engagement.

  • Manage content across digital and print platforms, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility.

  • Oversee communications materials such as newsletters, media responses, website content, and publications.

  • Support policy development by conducting research, aligning policies with best practices, and ensuring governance consistency.

  • Supervise and mentor team members and coordinate external communications consultants.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related field.

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a similar discipline.

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, content development, and media relations.

  • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA), social media, and content management systems.

  • Experience in policy-related communications within a regulatory or governance environment is an asset.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is an advantage.
