Purpose

To provide supervisory oversight for a group(s) of Concrete Reinforcing Technicians, including coordinating work, ensuring that job standards are being followed, and that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
  • Supervise Concrete Reinforcing Technicians, review their work, assist with any reported difficulties, and identify ways to correct deficiencies.
  • Responsible for continually reassessing detailing techniques and recommending integrated, cost-effective solutions to improve efficiencies, and participating in the development of recommended actions.
  • Track the employee's progress on assigned work.
  • Assist in the performance review process and recommend appropriate salary adjustments as needed for assigned detailing personnel.
  • Train and mentor new-hires in the detailing department
  • Monitor budgets and implement cost-control measures to ensure department operations stay within budget while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain internal quality control programs to establish a standard across the department.
  • Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.
  • Coordinate detailing work with Fabrication and Placing Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued by an accredited school, college, or equivalent
  • At least four years of experience as a Senior Concrete Reinforcing Technician
  • Requires thorough knowledge of Nucor Rebar Fabrication detailing systems
  • General supervisory skills or supervisory training
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
  • Effective verbal and communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 2-year technical diploma from an accredited school or college
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to motivate Concrete Reinforcing Technicians creatively
