The Opportunity

As a Health & Safety Officer (NCSO), you will play a key role in fostering a proactive, compliant, and engaged safety culture across our manufacturing operations. You'll collaborate with supervisors, employees, and leadership to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete and review FLHAs (Field Level Hazard Assessments) for manufacturing areas
  • Maintain and monitor health, safety, and environmental systems in compliance with federal, provincial, and corporate regulations
  • Ensure accurate documentation of incident reports, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and related records
  • Lead and participate in workplace inspections, audits, and investigations
  • Develop, update, and implement health and safety policies, programs, and training
  • Support ACSA COR certification and annual safety audits
  • Oversee WCB claims management, return-to-work programs, and related documentation
  • Deliver toolbox meetings and safety communications for shop personnel
  • Maintain first aid and eyewash stations to ensure readiness and compliance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Skills & Qualifications

  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation — required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an NCSO (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation, codes, and standards
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing or industrial safety environments
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
