Medical Office Assistant – Full-Time & Part-Time

We are looking to build our Admin team again Canopy Health is a multidisciplinary practice in the heart of Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. We've proudly served the community for over 12 years and are a busy Midwifery- and Nurse Practitioner–led primary care centre, working alongside a wonderful Allied Health team.

We are seeking both full-time and part-time employees with MOA certification.

As an MOA at Canopy Health, you will play a key role in daily operations, handling sensitive health information in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Position Details

Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (37.5–40 hours/week)

Start date: ASAP (Fall 2025)

Compensation: $28.00 – $32.00/hour, depending on experience

Job type: Permanent

Desired Qualifications

  • Grade 12 + completion of a 1-year MOA program OR one (2) years of recent MOA experience
  • MOA certification preferred
  • Previous clinical office experience
  • Familiarity with OSCAR and Jane EMRs is an asset

Position Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written English communication
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical office procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a busy setting
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality (PIPEDA certification supported if needed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage NP waitlists and attach new clients to NP care
  • Schedule appointments for 3 NPs and 4 RMs using OSCAR and Jane
  • Respond to patient calls and emails
  • Maintain accurate, confidential charts
  • Send referrals and track statuses
  • Manage and communicate results (labs, imaging, pathology)
  • Create and update eForms and referral templates
  • Support practitioners (letters, reports, scanning, faxing, uploads)
  • Oversee clinic operations: mail, laundry, disinfecting, stocking, supplies
  • Communicate with clinics, pharmacies, law offices, and providers
  • Coordinate tests and procedures (ultrasound, PAPs, specialist visits, pharmacy requests)
  • Other duties as assigned
