Hi I'm the owner of Social Llama Cafe, a cozy, community-driven spot in Midtown Toronto where good food brings people together. We serve up feel-good brunch, hearty burgers, vibrant salads, smoothies, and more — all made with care. We're a small team, which means everyone plays a big role. If you're someone who loves the energy of a kitchen, but also enjoys connecting with people, this might be the perfect fit for you.

About the Role:

We're looking for a hands-on chef who's comfortable taking charge of the kitchen while also stepping out front to help with service when needed. It's a dynamic role, ideal for someone who thrives in a small, collaborative environment and isn't afraid to wear multiple hats.

What You'll Do:

In the Kitchen:

  • Cook and plate a variety of dishes to café standards
  • Manage prep, portioning, and inventory
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and up to health standards
  • Support with specials and seasonal menu development

Out Front :

Greet and serve customers with warmth

  • Take and process orders at the counter
  • Help with takeout packaging or table running
  • Be the friendly face of Social Llama when we're short-staffed

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ year of experience in a kitchen setting (restaurant or café)
  • Comfortable working solo or in a small team
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and pride in your work
  • Ability to multitask and stay cool under pressure
  • Culinary diploma or certification
  • Weekend availability is a must
