Job Overview

Riverview Motors is a General Motors New and Used vehicle dealership looking for an Automotive Sales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automobiles and a strong background in sales with a knowledge of Finance and Insurance products being an asset. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers. As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the sales process, from initial contact to finalizing the sale.

Duties

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences in vehicle selection.
  • Contacting prospective buyers through the use of various sales leads.
  • Explain vehicle features and benefits during vehicle presentations and deliveries.
  • Promote extended warranties, insurance, and other items that add value and protect the customer's investment.
  • Assisting customers with demo drives and answering any of their questions.
  • Arrange for added options to be installed prior to delivery.
  • Checking in with sold customers to guage satisfaction and answer any questions on their purchase.
  • Maintain organized records of customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Staying informed about product knowledge via online product knowledge and offsite training.
  • Working closely with the sales team to assist with appraisals and understand pricing and payment options.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills is a must.
  • Experience in selling in automotive retail is preferential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Finance and Insurance business activities is an asset.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact via texting and social media.
  • Be able to participate in regular product knowledge training.
  • Be able to provide a clean driver's abstract.
  • Understanding of computers within the Microsoft Windows Environment.
  • Be bondable.

Compensation/Work Schedule

Following a probationary period compensation is commission based with target based incentives. The work schedule is typically Monday until Friday unless directed otherwise by the Sales Manager and the timing of customer appointments.
