JOB DESCRIPTION:
Wheel, Brake, ACM, and Airframe Supervisor will lead, manage, and oversee the repair and overhaul activities for wheel, brake, ACM, and airframe components. This role requires the ability to interpret technical specifications, manage maintenance operations, and ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations. The Supervisor will be responsible for team leadership, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety across all operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
➢ Oversee and direct the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of wheel, brake, ACM, and
airframe components, including disassembly, assembly, inspection, cleaning, and
testing.
➢ Review and interpret Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Technical Specifications,
and Drawings related to components and procedures.
➢ Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and
procedures as required by Transport Canada.
➢ Review results or all works, compare results to objectives, and take steps to ensure that
appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
➢ Drive accountability for daily tasks, including schedule adherence, asset utilization, and
maintaining productivity and quality standards.
➢ Ensure that Dept scheduling minimizes turnaround times and adheres to deadlines.
➢ Manage WIP and part shortage activities, ensuring smooth operations.
➢ Assist in troubleshooting complex structural issues and propose repair solutions.
➢ Mentor and support team members in their career development, conducting regular
performance reviews and offering guidance for advancement.
➢ Ensure that the workplace remains safe, organized, and efficient, maintaining high
attention to detail in all tasks.
➢ Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment procurement, and manage budgetary
requirements.
➢ Perform other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- AME M1/M2 license and S license are strong assets.
- Previous experience working in a Transport Canada-approved facility or with AS9100 certification.
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge, with experience in repairing and overhauling wheel, brake, ACM, and airframe components.
- Background in mechanical assembly with stringent fit and finish requirements
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a high-performance team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Experience Required:
- 5-10 years of experience in mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic systems, particularly in aerospace and aircraft components.
- Proven experience managing repair and overhaul processes for wheel, brake, ACM, or airframe systems.
Education Desired:
- University or college degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering, or 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry in relevant fields.
