Senior Director, Legal Services & General Counsel

Transform legal insight into business impact

As ISC's senior legal executive, the Senior Director, Legal Services & General Counsel will provide strategic leadership, direction, and modernization of ISC's legal function across all business lines and subsidiaries. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services, this role ensures that the company's legal, advisory, and compliance frameworks are responsive, business-enabling, and aligned with ISC's enterprise goals. The General Counsel will serve as a key advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, offering guidance on corporate and commercial law, securities and governance, M&A, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.

This role represents a unique opportunity to lead transformation from within, shaping a high-performing legal team, optimizing internal capability, and evolving ISC's Legal Services function into a strategic partner that advances corporate performance, accountability, and innovation. The General Counsel will establish service-level standards and measurable outcomes, strengthen collaboration across business units, and bring forward-looking insight to emerging legal and regulatory issues.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, decisive, and trusted legal advisor who views the law as a catalyst for growth and innovation. With deep experience in corporate/commercial law, governance, and regulatory environments, you bring clarity and pragmatism to complex issues and possess the judgment and composure to advise executives and boards with confidence. You are a leader who builds trust through integrity, empowers a skilled team, and contributes to a culture of accountability, service, and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Law degree and active membership in good standing with a Canadian law society
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive legal experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Proven expertise advising or serving a publicly traded company on governance, disclosure, and securities matters
  • Demonstrated success in corporate/commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and complex transactions
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and the ability to balance risk with business opportunity
  • Skilled communicator and relationship builder who inspires trust at all levels of the organization
