Job description

Telford Medical Clinic is looking to add a part-time/full-time Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist. The ideal candidate for this role is outspoken & friendly, well organized, and is able to multi-task in a busy environment. At Telford Medical Clinic, we are seeking employees to become lasting permanent members of our team.

While experience as a Medical Office Assistant is preferred, it is not required. We will train the right individual.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Opening & closing clinic
  • Greet patients upon arrival and provide a high level of care through excellent customer service
  • Answering phone calls and emails
  • General office duties including filing, photocopying and organizing
  • Triaging patients and taking vitals.
  • Provide support to doctors and other health care professionals by performing necessary administrative tasks and minor medical duties
  • Perform appointment bookings, confirmations, reminders and follow-up calls.
  • Manage client referrals and patient information database
  • Accept client payments with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ensure reception area is tidy, presentable, and well stocked with all necessary stationery and material
  • Ensure waiting area, exam rooms, and bathroom are clean and well-kept for clients
  • Participate in role training and customer service training as needed
  • Educate customers on services provided by the clinic
  • Perform other duties as requested by management and supervisory team
  • Exercise extreme respect and compliance for medical privacy under legislative standards

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Familiarity with usage of an EMR is an asset (but not required. We will train the right candidate)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Typing proficiency of at least 50WPM
  • Ability to work in a complex multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Flexible availability, willingness to work weekends and evenings
  • Excellent time-management/multi-tasking skills
