Junior Mechanical Designer (Part-Time)

  • Remote– Greater Toronto Area (GTA) only
  • Permanent position with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role as the company grows (3 to 6 months), with compensation to be reviewed accordingly.

About Us

Elysium Engineering is a fast-growing Toronto-based firm specializing in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and gas system design for buildings. We're seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team part-time (20h/week) to support our growing portfolio of projects.

The ideal candidate is autonomous, detail-oriented, and eager to take full ownership of design projects, from drawings to coordination within a collaborative and remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD 2D
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and project documentation
  • Review and coordinate drawings with draftsmen
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Conduct occasional site visits to verify installations (GTA only)
  • Independently manage assigned projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and coordination across stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Completed diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering (college or university)
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred (co-op/internship included)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management
  • Based in the Greater Toronto Area
  • Driver's license + personal vehicle required (for site visits)
