Geology & Resources Manager
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Technical Services Vice President of G Mining Services, the Geology and Resources Manager will be part of the management team and lead the geology department of the company. He/she will be called upon to:
- Provide peer review and guidance to the geology team in the matters of resource estimation; including, geological data quality assurance, sampling data QA/QC, geological modeling, geostatistics, mineral resource classification, production geology, resource reconciliation and resource risks and opportunities
- Produce NI technical reports for all categories of projects, from the scoping study stage to the feasibility study stage, as well as for operating mines
- Performing due diligence on third party geological interpretations, resource estimates and estimation parameters
- Ensure compliance of mineral resource estimates with international professional standards and government regulations for public disclosures
- Lead, train and mentor staff
- Perform verification of grade control programs;
- Evaluate drilling programs.
- Perform geological modeling of mineralized zones in 2D and 3D;
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of high-quality staff in order to grow and expand the technical capabilities of the group
- Actively support business development activities through participation in conferences, direct business development activities and strategic client relationship management
- Participate in senior management strategic meetings regarding G Mining Services
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering-Geology, or Geostatistics
- Ability to communicate in French and/or English
- Registration or eligibility to the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (OGQ) or Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Experience in personnel management.
- Experience in consulting is an asset.
- More than 15 years of experience of increasing responsibility in conducting exploration and evaluation programs, drill programs, geologic interpretation and modeling and resource and reserve estimation
- Experience in the 3D modeling and grade estimation of a variety of mineral deposits
- Familiarity with various geological modeling and resource estimation software packages, such as Leapfrog, MineSight, Vulcan, and Datamine
Abilities
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to lead and influence people
- Good technical skills in geology and resources and interest to share the knowledge with the team
Additional information
- The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
- Possibility of travelling abroad and in Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
