Pacific Vision MD is a fast-paced, patient-focused ophthalmology clinic committed to delivering exceptional eye care. We are seeking a friendly, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a Front Desk / Ophthalmic Technician role. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both administrative work and hands-on clinical support in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and checking in patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments; managing phone calls and electronic communication
  • Preparing, updating, and maintaining patient charts using Accuro EMR
  • Verifying MSP/health card information and ensuring accurate records
  • Creating referrals and coordinating with specialty offices
  • Filing, scanning, faxing, and supporting general administrative tasks
  • Accurately documenting patient medical history and exam information
  • Operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as OCT, Visual Field, and Auto-Refractor
  • Administering eye drops as directed
  • Educating patients on procedures, surgeries, treatment plans, and medication use
  • Assisting the physician during in-office procedures
  • Cleaning and preparing exam rooms; monitoring and restocking supplies
  • Sterilizing surgical instruments and maintaining clinical equipment
  • Supporting the overall clinic flow to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program (an asset)
  • Experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred
  • Knowledge of Accuro EMR is a bonus but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a busy clinical environment
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology/procedures (training provided)
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; Farsi is an asset
