The Opportunity
Halifax Water is currently seeking one (1) Term (3-6 months) Full-Time Collection Systems Operator Apprentice.
Interested, qualified candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and up-to-date resume, quoting Competition #HW25-86R confirming their interest by 12:00pm on November 27th, 2025.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
The position is responsible for:
- Performing scheduled and emergency cleaning, repair and maintenance of sanitary and stormwater related infrastructure.
- Operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools in a safe manner to perform such functions in all weather conditions and in confined spaces, etc.
- Contribution in meeting the operational objectives of Halifax Water.
What you'll need
Qualifications
This position requires:
- Grade 12
- Two (2) years of experience operating and maintaining sanitary and stormwater related infrastructure,
- Class 5 with a willingess to obtain a Class 3 - with a clean driving record
- Commitment to safe work practices.
This is a unionized position.
