Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
  • Experience with one common scripting or coding language (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
  • Experience with infrastructure systems, the scope and impact of the systems, and the underlying technology.
  • Systems experience (e.g., Linux, Unix) or a similar operating system.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in software development in Java, C++, Python, Go or production software system design.
  • Understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, scalable storage solutions, software-defined networking, and Storage services.
  • Ability to execute technical projects at global scale, across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Ability to innovate using technology to advance business goals.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and debugging skills with effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

As Supportability Tech lead (STL), you'll be responsible for collaboration with Networking and Storage engineering, product teams, providing technical oversight, and operational management for a portfolio of critical products and infrastructure across the Cloud Networking and Storage teams as well as horizontal project areas that apply to all products diagnostic tooling or systemic product issues.

You will foster technical influence across networking and storage products, supporting their successful adoption by GCP customers. These products and services drive planet-scale networking and storage, enabling the next generation of AI workloads spanning GCP and partner ecosystems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand and evaluate the scalability and reliability to ensure the technical leads are always a step ahead of customer demands.
  • Identify and drive major product supportability efforts as the primary Support interface into Engineering leadership.
  • Own technical relationships with leaders in product engineering and Site Reliability Engineering, in order to improve the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with global teams.
