POSITION OVERVIEW:
The industrial Millwright is responsible for ensuring the mechanical reliability, installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of all industrial machinery at Omex Manufacturing ULC. This includes but is not limited to, stamping presses and feedlines, conveyors, mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and automated equipment requiring mechanical support. The role is centered on effective troubleshooting, maximizing equipment uptime, and maintaining safe, consistent operation through preventative maintenance practices and rebuilds.
DUTIES OF THE JOB:
- Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overall of industrial equipment, fixtures, and plant infrastructure.
- Install, align, dismantle, move, and rebuild industrial machinery/equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and identify root causes to restore equipment functionality.
- Support basic troubleshooting of sensors, limit switches, fuses, and interlocks within non-licensed scope.
- Contribute to and maintain an up-to-date electronic maintenance log consisting of troubleshooting notes, corrective actions made, MRO inventory consumed, etc.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Perform machining, welding, and fabrication tasks to repair or manufacture components.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and mechanical systems.
- Provide input for equipment modifications.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts and rigging equipment safely and according to procedures.
- Participate in and provide on the job training with other maintenance and tooling team members including apprentices.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Omex Manufacturing ULC Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a tidy and organized area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Ontario or Inter-Provincial Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A)
- 3 years' of mechanical experience in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Available for shift work and overtime as required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and sound decision making.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team work.
- Welding and fabrication skills considered an asset.
