Position Overview

The Corporate Controller will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Reporting to the CFO, in the Vancouver office, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, day to day accounting, budgeting and internal controls of the Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Manage general accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and tax compliance.
  • Manage the monthly financial reporting including budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Take ownership of all tax returns prepared by the accounting team. (i.e. T2, GST, etc.)
  • Oversee audit processes and coordinate with external auditors to meet compliance standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and ensure all transaction comply with corporate governance policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve all journal entries for coding and consistency with IFRS and corporate budgets.
  • Perform technical accounting analysis.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, commerce or business.
  • CPA Accounting Designation.
  • 6+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience within the mining industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven team leadership, able to work with team members at all levels to meet deliverable deadlines.
