Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Estimator, based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects by analyzing specifications, drawings, and project requirements. The role includes communicating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, preparing cost breakdowns, performing risk assessments, and ensuring that all estimates align with company standards. The Mechanical Estimator will also collaborate with project management and engineering teams to deliver estimates efficiently and participate in project handovers.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in mechanical estimating, cost analysis, and project budgeting
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC systems, and plumbing within construction projects
  • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and project specifications
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word), and Trimble
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for supplier and team collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience in the construction and contracting industry is an asset
