Job Description

Willowbrook Dry Cleaning & Alterations is a well-established, locally owned business serving the Willowbrook community for over 18 years. We are seeking an experienced Alterations Tailor / Seamstress who combines strong tailoring skills with excellent customer service.

This role involves performing quality garment alterations while also assisting customers at the counter as needed. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with customers in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clothing alterations including hemming, resizing, repairs, and adjustments
  • Work on men's and women's garments, including casual, business, and formalwear
  • Take measurements and follow alteration instructions accurately
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service in person and over the phone
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide basic service information
  • Process sales transactions, including taking payments and issuing receipts
  • Communicate clearly with front-counter staff regarding alteration details and timelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized work and fitting area

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in clothing alterations or tailoring
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable answering phones and speaking with customers
  • Experience handling sales transactions and basic POS systems (training provided)
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Flexible schedule
  • Steady work in an established shop

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
