The Opportunity

Shape Something Different – Join our growing team as a Fire Alarm Designer and contribute to major infrastructure projects across Canada. In this role, you'll assist with engineering drawings and specifications for fire protection alarm systems, while supporting building and fire code compliance. You'll collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to deliver safe, innovative solutions that protect communities.

Your Impact

  • Assist with the design of automatic fire alarm systems for diverse infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Support building and fire code analysis to ensure compliance with NFPA, FM Global, and local standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, external vendors, and engineers to implement design modifications.
  • Communicate design concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and resource gathering for project challenges.
  • Participate in occasional local travel for project-specific requirements.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technology diploma in a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience in fire protection and life safety design.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with hydraulic calculation software is an asset.
  • Understanding of NFPA, FM Global, and Building/Fire Code standards.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.
  • Eligible for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance (mandatory).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $57,500 – $76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 – $72,300
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $52,000 – $69,000
