Job SummaryMust be a team player with the ability to receive and execute instructions from the Design Staff. Proficient operating knowledge of AutoCAD is required, and knowledge of hydraulic design programs is preferred but not required. Good communication skills, initiatives and inclination to learn are to be demonstrated.Responsibilities & QualificationsDuties and Responsibilities:
AutoCAD Operator
Provide production assistance to the Design Staff as follows:
Set up AutoCAD drawing files including digitizing and cleaning up working drawings
Fire Protection drafting as per mark-ups provided by Design Staff
Ensure design checklist (drawing standards section) is being followed
Ensure AutoCAD Standards are being followed
Maintain AutoCAD files
Co-ordinate Fire Suppression requirements with other mechanical and electrical services (assistance provided by Design Staff as needed)
Detailed check of work prior to submitting to senior staff for review
Prepare equipment selections with assistance from senior staff
Review and process shop drawings with senior staff
Provide construction administration services as directed and supervised by senior staff
Write various reports as directed by senior staff
Attend site surveys with senior staff
Communicate with project team members for successful project delivery
Skills and Qualifications:
University degree, college/technology diploma, or technician certificate in Mechanical or Fire Suppression Engineering design or other applicable area
Minimum 2 years AutoCAD experience coupled with design experience in Fire Protection water-based systems
Knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing design an asset
Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Detection design an asset
Revit experience is an asset
Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings with supervision provided by senior staff
Ability to think mechanically and/or mechanically inclined
Some knowledge of applicable building codes and NFPA Standards an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and be a team player
Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $75,000-90,000 annually for this position and local market.
