We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Office Assistant to manage accounting and assist with administrative functions across multiple companies and accounts. This role is ideal for an exceptionally organized professional with strong corporate accounting experience, and flexibly to grow with an ever changing and expanding local business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple companies and accounts
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping including A/R, A/P, invoicing, bank and credit card reconciliations, and payroll (including EHT, Source Deductions, WSIB, etc..)
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Work closely with management and external accountants
  • Provide general office and administrative support as needed/required
  • Ensure compliance with all required government accounting practices
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing and expanding business growth, and the opportunity to suggest new practices as the role progresses.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting office assistant
  • Corporate accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (word, excel), Gmail, google drive, google calendar, etc... preferred.
  • General computer experience (adobe, search engines, social media, etc..) an asset
  • Experience managing multiple entities or sets of books
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently
  • Strong communication and professionalism with management and other employees
  • Ability to suggest, adapt to, and support new business practices as we grow.
