About the role

We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Auto to join our growing team

As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to a team of claims professionals. You and your team will be accountable for providing quality service, completing work processes effectively and efficiently, and continuously identifying areas of improvement.

Working within our hybrid model, this opportunity is based in our Mississauga (2 Prologis Blvd) or Toronto (700 University Ave) office locations.

What you'll do here:

  • Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact's key business goals 

  • Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff 

  • Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims 

  • Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems 

  • Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness 

  • Participate in budget making; and recruitment and hiring of your team 

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong technical skills in automobile claims and experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation

  • Minimum 3 years of Claims experience

  • Proven leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results 

  • Strong communication and customer service skills 

  • Ongoing commitment to self-development 

  • Workforce management and experience in a contact center environment would be an asset

  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
