As a Section Manager, you play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic team of Claims Support who provide essential assistance to all Claims areas. Your mission is to drive operational excellence, empower talent, and deliver exceptional service that ensures member and client satisfaction. You are a strategic thinker and a decisive leader, capable of optimizing workflows and making quality decisions that elevate performance across your team and department. With a strong focus on results, you will shape the service offering, develop and execute business plans, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Lead and Support: Assist your direct supervisor in organizing work and planning operational and strategic activities for the unit.

  • Strategize and Execute: Develop, implement, and monitor the unit's action plan aligned with organizational priorities and integrated with other administrative units.

  • Champion Change and Talent: Apply management and communication practices that promote change management, attract and retain top talent, and encourage skill development, diversity, and engagement.

  • Deliver Excellence: Define and oversee service-related activities, ensuring projects are executed to achieve business objectives and maximize member/client satisfaction.

  • Drive Performance: Manage individual and team performance to support the unit's business plan and deliver measurable results.

  • Promote Values: Uphold and advocate the cooperative principles of Desjardins Group in every aspect of your leadership.

  • Innovate Continuously: Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices for sustainable success.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Leadership or Leadership support pool experience

  • Expert proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Available for occasional travel between Mississauga, Burlington and Aurora offices
