Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network and Application Security Engineer, located in Ontario, Canada. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring network and application security by designing, implementing, and overseeing security measures, performing vulnerability assessments, and providing incident response. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring and analyzing security systems, conducting risk assessments, updating security protocols, collaborating with technical teams, and staying current on emerging cybersecurity threats and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Network Security, including firewall configuration, VPN setup, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Proficiency in Application Security, focusing on secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, and application-level threat modeling.
  • Experience conducting Risk Assessments, including vulnerability assessments, and developing remediation plans.
  • Expertise in Threat Monitoring and Incident Response, including analyzing attacks, mitigating threats, and documenting incidents effectively.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security technologies and concepts, with experience in implementing and securing cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience required.
