Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Fan Systems
2 weeks ago
About the Role
AirStream Systems Inc. is an Ontario-based manufacturer of engineered industrial fan systems serving cement, steel, pulp & paper, power generation, and other heavy process industries across Canada and the United States.
We are seeking a senior, technically grounded sales professional who understands industrial fans, air/gas movement, and process applications — someone who can confidently engage plant engineers, consultants, and EPCs, and own complex technical sales cycles from initial inquiry through commissioning.
Title:
Technical Sales Specialist
(Candidates with a P.Eng. will carry the Technical Sales Engineer designation.)
Roles and Responsabilities
- Promote AirStream, the AirStream philosophy, and the sale of AirStream equipment and solutions.
- Meet all sales objectives and targets through effective use of sales abilities, tactics and strategies.
- Travel as required to successfully achieve sales objectives and targets. Travel may be required during weekends and holidays.
- Maintain all sales activity in CRM and regularly report sales pipeline during weekly Sales Meetings.
- Arrange and conduct performance testing at customer sites.
- Gather all Opportunity data required to successfully evaluate and propose new projects.
- Additional application engineering and proposal writing tasks may be assigned depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
- Present and explain proposals to customers.
- Provide proactive support to customers to influence decision making process.
- Other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 10–15+ years experience in technical or engineered equipment sales
- Experience selling into heavy industrial environments (cement, steel, pulp & paper, power, mining, or similar)
- Strong understanding of industrial fans, blowers, air/gas movement, or rotating equipment
- Comfortable interpreting fan curves, pressure, flow, efficiency, and performance data
- Proven ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Canada and the USA
- Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain)
Strongly Preferred
- Direct experience with industrial fan systems (ID/FD fans, centrifugal, axial, process fans)
- Engineering background (Mechanical preferred)
- P.Eng. designation (Canada)
- Experience working with EPCs, consultants, or large end users
- CRM discipline (Salesforce experience an asset)
Territory & Travel
- Territory: Canada & USA (overarching responsibility)
- Markets: Cement, steel, pulp & paper, power generation, and other processing plants
- Travel: Frequent site visits; travel is a core part of the role
- Work Model: Hybrid — mix of remote work, customer travel, and office collaboration
Ontario-based candidates are preferred, but exceptional candidates elsewhere will be considered if travel and coverage make sense.
Why AirStream
- Ontario-owned and operated manufacturer
- Engineered-to-order solutions (not catalogue selling)
- Strong collaboration between sales, engineering, and manufacturing
- Growing presence in critical infrastructure and heavy process industries
- Opportunity to own territory, influence solutions, and grow with the company
How to Apply
Apply directly through LinkedIn. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a confidential discussion.
