Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless and professional experience. This role combines technical knowledge with exceptional customer service skills to facilitate effective communication between clients and our service technicians. Previous dealership or mechanic experience is highly valued, as well as a strong understanding of automotive repair processes. The Service Advisor will also be responsible for upselling additional services and handling cash transactions accurately, contributing to the overall success of our service department.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns.
  • Explain recommended repairs and maintenance services clearly, ensuring customer understanding.
  • Write detailed repair orders and accurately document customer concerns and vehicle information.
  • Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and schedule repairs, ensuring timely completion.
  • Upsell additional services or products that meet customer needs while maintaining integrity and transparency.
  • Handle cash transactions efficiently, balancing registers at the end of each shift.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the service area.
  • Keep abreast of automotive repair procedures, dealership promotions, and product knowledge to better serve customers.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a dealership or automotive repair environment is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle issues and repair processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients.
  • Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services or products ethically.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and basic administrative tasks related to service documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
