Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Dispensary Manager to oversee our dispensary operations. This role combines hands-on compounding work with team leadership and workflow management to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities

1. Data Capturing & Entry:

  • Accurately enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records for compounded medications.

2. Compounding Responsibilities:

  • Non-Sterile Compounding: Prepare various types of non-sterile compounds, including but not limited to:
  • Creams, ointments, and gels
  • Suspensions and solutions
  • Capsules and suppositories
  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare sterile medications in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

3. Inventory & Stock Maintenance:

  • Ensure all batched items are well-stocked and available for dispensing.
  • Monitor and report any shortages or discrepancies in inventory levels.

4. Formula Management & Quality Control:

  • Build and verify formulas using PK and Kroll software.
  • Conduct final product checks to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to pharmaceutical standards.

5. Leadership

  • Training and delegation of all staff in the department
  • Improving workflow and finding efficiencies

Requirements

  • Experience in pharmacy compounding (sterile and non-sterile)
  • Regulated Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacy (required)
  • Strong knowledge of Kroll and PK systems preferred but not required
  • Leadership and team management experience are required
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and patient-focused dispensary environment

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8-hour shift between 8 am and 6 pm with paid lunch time

Compensation

  • Wage is from $36 per hour
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation
  • Medical benefits will start in 3 months
  • RRSP Matching will start in 3 years
