Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional eye care services. The ideal candidate will assist with patient interactions, support optical operations, and ensure a smooth workflow within our optical practice. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist them with selecting eyewear options tailored to their needs
  • Take precise measurements for lenses and frames, ensuring proper fit and comfort
  • Assist with the fitting, adjustment, and repair of eyewear products
  • Manage patient records and update information accurately using electronic health record systems.
  • Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and optical care tips
  • Support inventory management by stocking supplies and ordering products as needed
  • Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to deliver comprehensive eye care services
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area to ensure a professional environment

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and optics
  • Previous laboratory experience or optical experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in retail sales or customer service, with strong sales skills
  • Familiarity with retail management practices is a plus
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and assist patients
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Understanding of basic marketing strategies, patient engagement, or promotional activities is an asset
