Dennerik Engineering Ltd. has been designing and fabricating steel structures since 1981. We work across mining, water treatment, industrial, and marine sectors, delivering tanks, skids, buildings, and custom steel projects from concept to completion. Our shop is growing fast, and we're looking to add leadership support to our production team.

Position Overview

We're hiring an Assistant Production Manager to support day-to-day operations in our fabrication shop. This role bridges the gap between the office and the shop floor. You'll help run scheduling, manpower planning, material needs, QA/QC coordination, and general production oversight, while supporting the Shop Manager with supervising a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule daily/weekly shop labor.

  • Assign manpower across multiple ongoing jobs based on priority and skillset.

  • Track incoming projects and prepare the shop for upcoming workloads.

  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to forecast resource needs.

  • Manage inventory for consumables and shop supplies.

  • Order materials, consumables, and shop tooling as required.

  • Monitor shop budget items and help control material and labor usage.

  • Review ITPs, job specifications, and inspection documents.

  • Ensure required inspections are scheduled and completed.

  • Support compliance with CWB, API 650, and internal quality procedures.

  • Support the Shop Manager in supervising day-to-day shop activity.

  • Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to shop staff.

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in steel fabrication, welding, or a related supervisory/lead role.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and shop workflows.

  • Comfortable reading fabrication drawings and job specifications.

  • Experience with scheduling, labor planning, or production coordination is an asset.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and inspection processes.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Monday to Friday

In-person at our Maple Ridge facility

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
