We are a pre-revenue indie studio with a live WebGL game, and we're seeking a visionary FOUNDING VR ENGINEER to own the entire VR vertical of our company. You won't just be porting a game; you'll be architecting a commercially successful, native VR title from the ground up for the Meta Quest platform.

This is a founding team role for someone who wants to build, ship, and own a product.

What You'll Do (Your Mission):

  • Own the Entire VR Stack:
    Take full ownership of architecting, building, and shipping our game's native VR version in Unity for the Meta Quest App Lab.
  • Solve Core VR Challenges:
    Design and implement intuitive, satisfying VR mechanics - from UI and interaction to weapon handling and locomotion.
  • Drive for Performance:
    Ruthlessly optimize every aspect of the game to ensure a rock-solid, high-framerate experience on standalone VR hardware.
  • Ship Product:
    Manage the entire release pipeline. Your primary goal is to get a polished, commercially viable product live on the Meta Quest store.
  • Pioneer a Cross-Platform Vision:
    Collaborate directly with the founding team to bridge our Web and VR ecosystems, with the long-term goal of expanding to the open web.

Who You Are (The Ideal Partner):

  • A Proven VR Shipper:
    You have built and, most importantly, LAUNCHED VR games or applications in Unity. You can point to a live product on the Meta Quest store or App Lab and say, "I built that."
  • A Unity VR Expert:
    You are fluent in the modern VR development stack (OpenXR, Meta XR SDKs, etc.) and have a deep, practical understanding of VR-specific optimization and design.
  • A Full-Stack Problem Solver:
    You are a strong C# programmer who architects clean, scalable systems. You are comfortable troubleshooting and debugging any issue that stands in the way of shipping.
  • An Owner, Not a Renter:
    You thrive on autonomy and responsibility. The idea of being the sole owner of a critical product vertical excites you, not intimidates you. You are a partner, not an employee.
