We're building a thriving organization that's purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.As a Manager, Financial Reporting and Accounting Advisory Services your responsibilities will include: Work with the National Leader- Financial Reporting Advisory Services to further build-out and grow the practiceLead engagement teams on the execution and delivery of complex accounting advisory projects, including facilitating training sessions and leading implementation work on new standards and/or transitioning to a new frameworkProvide complex accounting support to other engagement teams, which could include acting as a sounding-board or a "second set of eyes"Build and maintain relationships with appropriate levels of client management, including C-SuiteUnderstand the client's industry sector and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developmentsContinuously learn and share knowledge across the firm and with clientsDesign and prepare deliverables tailored to client needsBuild relationships that enable seamless collaboration with other service lines in order to provide the client with an exceptional client experienceParticipate in and lead both National and local business development initiativesDoane Grant ThorntonIf you're a bit like us, you're driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. Here's a few more boxes we're also hoping you can tick: A Canadian CPA or equivalentA minimum 6 years' relevant experienceExperience in external financial auditExperience in the technical accounting department of an accounting firm or of a public companyExperience researching complex accounting issues under IFRS or US GAAP, and forming a proposed approach, experience in both frameworks would be an assetAbility to explain complex ideas so they are easily understood by othersExperience facilitating technical accounting training and/or other relevant trainingImpeccable client relationship skillsA dedication to teamwork and leadershipPlease note: this position may be located throughout our Southern Ontario offices.
