Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Yard & Fleet Management associate to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our company's vehicles and equipment. This role is vital in ensuring safety, organization, and optimal utilization of our fleet and yard facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-organized operation while maintaining a safe and productive environment.
Duties
- Warehouse Duties (50%)
- Perform cross-docking activities including unloading incoming freight and loading outbound shipments
- Ability to safely operate equipment forklift/company vehicle. Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment.
Equipment Maintenance Duties (50%)
- Operate pressure washer machinery safely and effectively to clean a variety of surfaces.
- Pressure washes mobile and fixed equipment & maintain the pressure washing equipment
- Inspect assigned truck/trailer equipment to ensure that it is clean and clear of all dirt and debris
- Use degreasers or removal chemical as label recommends when requested, posting pictures in designed form/chat
- Keep tools and equipment in good repair
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Wash and degrease vehicles.
- Remove containment from paint.
- Shampoo engines
- Clean floor mats
You will be required to:
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate efficiently in English
- Ability to use safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
- Ability to manage time
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to be flexible to work off hours, weekends, holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strip and load trailers based on destination and priority
- Scan, label, and verify freight for accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards on the dock
Must Have
- Prior experience in fleet management or yard operations is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety regulations
- Ability to operate basic yard equipment and tools safely
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and vendors
- Valid driver's license; clean driving record preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may include lifting or moving equipment as needed
This role is essential in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient yard environment that supports the overall success of our operations.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
