Nootka Tree Care, a growing family-run business based west of Cochrane, is seeking a Grounds Person to join our team. You will work alongside our experienced ISA certified arborist, learning valuable skills and techniques for tree care, maintenance and removal.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with tree pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks
  • Operating and maintaining equipment and tools
  • Driving truck and trailer
  • Ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others
  • Completing paperwork and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Participating in on-the-job training and learning opportunities

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. MUST provide driver abstract on acceptance.
  • Must be able to drive truck with trailer.
  • Operates and maintains chippers, chainsaws, and all other equipment in a safe manner is an advantage
  • Prior experience with trimming, chipper, and saw operation is preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Reliable
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects 50lbs and over
  • Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related field is an asset, but not required

Benefits:

  • After 3 months $500 towards healthcare.
  • Reimbursement if you take part in the PCTCC.
